About

Growing up in Ottawa, Mariam has always been eager to participate in sports such as soccer and gymnastics. Her interest in working with children grew while working as a summer camp counsellor, where she encouraged children to reach their full potential through play. Mariam continued working with children while volunteering at CHEO as a playroom and research assistant.

Mariam completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, followed by her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. During her final placement, she had the opportunity to complete a six-week placement at Toronto Kids Physio Group, where she treated babies as young as two months old to older teens. Mariam saw various cases, including developmental, neurological, and orthopedic conditions. Mariam is eager to use the skills she has gained to serve her community by encouraging children to meet their goals through purposeful play!

Mariam enjoys hiking, escape rooms, and baking treats for her friends and family outside of work.
