School Advocating Support

A social service worker can assist with school advocacy by collaborating with parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure that children with special needs receive appropriate educational support and accommodations. This may involve assessing the child's needs and creating an individualized education plan (IEP) outlining necessary services and accommodations.

The social service worker can attend school meetings with parents and provide advocacy to meet the child's needs. They may also provide resources and training to school staff to help them better understand the child's needs and how to effectively support them in the classroom. The ultimate goal is establishing a supportive and cooperative environment that enables the child to thrive academically and socially.
