Myofascial Release and Soft Tissue Release

Our pediatric physiotherapy clinic offers various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain and discomfort in children and youth. Two commonly used techniques are myofascial release and soft tissue release. Myofascial release involves gentle pressure being applied to affected areas, while soft tissue release uses massage, stretching, and other manual techniques to improve the flexibility and function of soft tissues. Our clinicians are trained to assess and determine which muscles and other soft tissues, such as the fascia, require release.

These techniques are non-invasive and can be customized to meet each child's individual needs. They can be used as standalone or complementary treatments to other physiotherapy programs such as exercise programs and postural education. Both techniques are safe and effective for children of all ages and can help promote relaxation and reduce stress levels.

If your child is experiencing muscle stiffness, postural problems, or joint pain, speak to a team member to find out if myofascial or soft tissue release could be helpful in their treatment plan. Our team will work closely with you and your child to develop a personalized treatment plan to help your child achieve optimal health and wellness.
